There’s a little secret in St. Louis that my parents taught me well. I will always remember the story of them going on a date to the Zoo on a rainy day and getting to play with baby lions. No one goes to the Zoo on a ugly day. Except those that want great experiences. So Saturday, with the thermometer hanging around 15º, we packed up the family and went to the Zoo. Parking in one of the dozen spaces that are never available at 11am, we walked in and saw the Zoo more empty than ever. We got to play with the sea lions, watch the polar bear up close, see happy penguins, and even sit around with monkeys right on the other side of the glass.
So let’s keep this secret. Don’t tell anyone. Just go.
